Skill New Zealand Limited
Skill NZ is an NZQA registered and accredited Private Training Establishment (PTE) that was established in 1993. Our focus is vocational training that leads to post study employment. We have strong industry partnerships and consistently report excellent student outcomes.
In late 2020, we received highly confident ratings for both educational performance and self-assessment from NZQA, resulting in an overall category 1 rating – the highest rating possible.
Skill NZ offers a range of programmes from level 3-6, including Health, Intensive Language and Numeracy (ILN), English Language, Legal Executive studies, and the Level 2 NZ Certificate in Equine Studies, offered in partnership with Byerley Park and the NZ Equine Academy.

A collaboration between education-provider Skill New Zealand Limited and Byerley Park Limited, New Zealand Equine Academy (NZEA) was created as YOUR pathway to a career in New Zealand's exciting equine industry.
Under the tutelage of South African-born championship-winning jockey Donavan Mansour and with enthusiasm and huge support from many leading industry professionals, we bring you a fun, rewarding, FEES-FREE NZQA-endorsed course designed to teach the skills, knowledge and confidence essential to the equine industry.
Experience the industry at its best! Be inspired by specialist guest-speakers; observe vets, farriers and other professionals at work; visit some of New Zealand's finest stud farms, racing stables, feed companies or museums; attend sales at NZ Bloodstock; spend days at the races alongside the float driver, starter, camera crew, stewards, owners , jockeys... whatever your area of interest, there is something for everyone in this industry!
